Hi!

My name is Corey Noxon. I am an archaeologist at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto Japan. Most of my research has focused on the Jomon period in Japan, specifically on population and mobility changes. Recently I have been dedicating more time towards exploring 3D applications in archaeology with an emphasis on photogrammetry.

I have been sharing stories about Japanese archaeology for a number of years on social media, but I wanted to have a space where I could dig a little deeper into the stories I shared as well as a place to more of my own research, so I created this site. The topic “Japanese archaeology” is an incredibly broad topic to cover alone however, and in the future I hope to be able to use this website as a collaborative space where other researchers can share about their research and research interests.

The site has been neglected the past few years, but I’m hoping to have things up and running soon. I’m currently in the process of doing a little housekeeping, but I hope to get some regular posts lined up in the near future and if I’m lucky maybe a guest post or two as well!
