Object: Facial reconstruction of Jomon period woman from Rebun

Why is this interesting/important? This facial construction is fairly unique in Japan, in that is not only relied on cranial measurements, but also integrated information gathered from a DNA test done on a molar of the woman. Genetic markers suggested the woman might have had darker colored skin with lighter, brown colored eyes. I am generally not a fan of facial reconstructions and feel they are portrayed as much more accurate than they truly are. That being said, I appreciate the extra work of incorporating DNA analysis into the reconstruction, and I hope the process continues to improve over time.
